Immediate Needs

Vineyard India Compassion Trust is a non-profit charity organization in India working among the economically poor community in Regerla village, Khammam District in Andhra Pradesh.

There are nearly 2000 families in the village of Rejerla and the economic condition of these people is very poor.  About 85% of the students come from rural agricultural backgrounds. Hence, their fee paying capacity depends on the weather and the ensuing agricultural output. The school revenue books took a hit last season due to insufficient rainfall. In spite of such misfortunes, the objective of providing good education still holds good. This is where the school needs support.  Around the village Rejerla are 25 villages with more than 500 families in each village which needs a schooling for their children.

The nation of India has had mixed success in educating her people. Having to build upon an infrastructure that was largely limited to Charity institutions, the task of educating all of India’s children has proven to be an overwhelming task for the government, at least for the time being. Rural areas are particularly challenging, as government resources are limited, but school-aged children are abundant. The New Song Community School is located in one of these rural settings.

New Song Community School

Our goal for New Song Community School is to provide the highest standard of curriculum, self-discipline and character through emphasis on ethical and moral expectations. In honoring our heritage New Song Community School is committed to provide love and care for the children as commissioned by our God.

With a humble beginning in the year 2004 with just 30 children and one cramped auto covering two villages, as we look back we are truly blessed by the collective hard work many people have put in. Today we celebrate our 5 years of completion with 480 children covering 10 villages. Next academic year June 2010-11 we want to serve 5 more villages and we are in need of important assets which will help us to move forward with ease to serve the community. Thus we will be able to bring great changes in the lives of children who do not have the privileges to attend a school.

HOW YOU can help

Your partnership is urgently needed! We help the people we serve become self sufficient wherever possible. Our experience over the last 5 years has shown us that no amount of intervention in the life of a child can have lasting effects as long as the child's surroundings remain unchanged. But when the immediate environment of a needy child like the family, ambience and community issues are addressed, you are helping to change the context in which the child is brought up.

Your involvement creates a network of partners, who in the long term help build a self-reliant and sustainable community that brings out the best in every child. By working not just with children, but also with their families and communities, Vineyard India helps create an atmosphere that children can make a new life a reality. We ensure that your money is being invested not just in the life of one child but also in the lives of other children within your child's community! Along with this, newer business opportunities are generated among poor families, so that some day, they can stand on their own feet and continue to provide for the coming generations. Your partnership is therefore a long term commitment, and its effects are sustainable and long lasting!

As a donor, you get the satisfaction of being a very important part of this whole new world! Through your relationship with your child, you participate in the development of your child's community!
